Dennis L. Fritz
Dennis Leo Fritz, age 88, of Elmwood, passed away at the Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar in Menomonie on Friday June 26, 2015in the loving embrace of his wife, June.
He was born on March 30, 1927, in Elmwood, WI, to Jake and Jennie Fritz. On Oct. 25, 1946, he married June Moen. He farmed and hauled milk early in his career and was employed at Bergeman Implement of Elmwood, Twin Cities Milk Producers of Elmwood, Weber Motors of Elmwood, Wonderland Foods of Elmwood, Elmwood Farm Service, and the City of Menomonie for the Door Stop Bus, for the elderly and disabled.
Dennis is survived by his wife, June, and their children: Diane (husband Stephen) Pittman of Spring Valley; Bonnie (Gary) Hanvelt of River Falls; Dennis Duane ( Susan) Fritz of River Falls; Donald (Kathleen) Fritz of Elmwood; Bruce Fritz of Mondovi. He also is survived by nine grandchildren: Brian (Lorena) Pittman of Oak Creek, WI; Matt (Cheryl) Pittman of Round Lake Park, IL; Jenny Fritz of Wabasha, MN; Amy Roeder, Columbia, MO; Eric (Samantha) Fritz of Eden Prairie, MN; Kristine (Joe) Sharon of River Falls; Katie (David Butcher) Fritz of Silver Bay, MN; Jake (Katelyn) Fritz of Bloomington, MN; and Kailey Fritz of Milwaukee; and six great-grandchildren: Isabella Pittman of Oak Creek, WI; and Abigail and Margaret Fritz of Eden Prairie, MN; Ryan, Kane and River Sharon of River Falls; a sister-in-law, Mable Fritz of Elmwood
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Eunice Mitchell, Warren, Chester, Orin, Lyle, Margaret Sumpter, Ada Johnston, and Alice Ottman.
Dennis shared his love for fishing with his children and grandchildren. He could fix just about anything, from his 1952 Allis Chalmers tractor to a Singer sewing machine to his riding lawnmower. The family loved his homemade baked beans, Thanksgiving turkey dressing, and meatloaf.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Friday July 3, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Elmwood with Rev. Michael Weaver officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Gilman Cemetery, rural Spring Valley.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Elmwood United Methodist Church.
