Evelyn J. Fischer

Evelyn J. Fischer age 90 of Elmwood, died Tuesday June 23, 2015 at the United Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Evelyn was born December 21, 1924 in the Township of Eau Galle.  She was the daughter of Matthew and Bertha (Seipel) Schober and grew up in that community.  Evelyn graduated from Durand High School.  She married Vaughn J. Fischer in 1945.  Most of their married life was in the Rock Elm Township, where they owned and operated the feed mill. Evelyn worked in a canning factory in Menomonie for several years.  She then took a job with Smead in Hastings, MN and worked there for 47 years. 

Evelyn enjoyed playing bingo, Euchre and any card games, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Barb Wagner of Prescott, two grandsons, Robert Joseph Wagner of Minneapolis, MN, James Matthew Wagner of Clayton; a sister, Laurella Morano of Circle Pines, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vaughn, five sisters, Genevieve Langer, Lillian Bechel, Anna Manore, Rosella Plemon, Marcella Faulkner; five brothers, Art, Larry, Raymond, Anthony and Irwin Schober.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday June 27, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elmwood with Rev. Gerald Harris officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

    Sorry for your loss! Evelyn, rode to work in the same car pool that I rode in at Smeads and after? After Donna, retired than Evelyn rode with me for a while until she findly made up her mind to retire.

    We have such fond memories of times spent in Aunt Eve's company. We remember going to her home, gathering around her kitchen table, and playing cards all in celebrating her birthday. Oh the fun times we had. She will be missed.
