Bernard H Fredrickson Sr.

Bernard H Fredrickson Sr, age 86, of Plum City, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire with his family by his side.
Bernard was born on December 8, 1938, in Plum City. He was the son of Harry and Helen (Waldvogel) Fredrickson. Bernard grew up in Plum City and graduated from Plum City High School. After high school, Bernard joined and served four years U.S Marine Corps and was station Okinawa, Japan. Bernard married Karen Smith on September 2, 1961 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plum City. After marriage, they lived in Plum City where they raised their family. Bernard took over the family business, Fredrickson Pump Service, until his retirement.
Bernard was a Ford man and enjoyed working on old cars and tractors and going to car shows. He liked going for drives, taking a different way home each time, professional wrestling, playing cards and taking trips. He had a special love for his cats, especially Midnight. Bernard was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, he never met a stranger, enjoyed a good drink with friends and squeaky cheese curds. Bernard donated blood when the American Red Cross came to Plum City and his last act of caring was donating his organs to people who were in need.
Bernard is survived by his children; Kimberly Fredrickson of Plum City, Kelly Retterath of Plum City and Nicole Fredrickson of Eau Claire, 12 grandchildren; Jayson, Amber, Melanne, Miah, Paige, Jasmine, Matthew, Jason, Josh, Dusty, Drew and Jayda, 14 great grandchildren, one sister, Lois Kinkel of Woodbury, MN, one aunt, Edna Rundquist of Red Wing, MN, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Karen, son, Bernard Fredrickson Jr., sisters, Betty Peterson and Bonnie Hedrick.
The family would like to thank the Mayo Eau Claire the CCU team and the organ donation team for their loving care of Dad.
Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Friday, September 19, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plum City with Rev. Daniel Pfaffe officiating. Burial will be in the Town of Union Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00PM-7:00PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held at Molly’s on Main immediately following services.
