David A Anderson

David A Anderson, age 72 of Pepin, died June 18, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN with his family by his side.

David was born on December 19, 1952 at the Plum City Hospital in Plum City. He was the son of Donald and Opal (Hoyt) Anderson and graduated from Plum City High School in 1971. After high school, David enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served overseas until being honorably discharged in 1977. While in the Navy, David obtained the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign, Vietnam Service Medal and one Bronze Star. David married the love of his life, Freda Keeler on July 3, 1982. After marriage they made their home in Plum City and later in Pepin where he remained the rest of his life. David worked various jobs over the years in construction, logging for 25 years, ADM in Red Wing, MN for 18 years and the Pepin Marina for 5 years.

David enjoyed woodworking, making heirlooms for family and friends. He also liked to travel, especially South Dakota, visiting with family and friends, photography and baking, mostly apple pies. He was a member of the Durand American Legion Post #181.

David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Freda; siblings, Rose (Joe) Myers of Woodville, Darlene (Larry) Mercer of Arkansaw, Joyce Zeilinger of Plum City, Ron (Diane) Anderson of Plum City; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Daniel; Nephew David Schlosser; nieces, Erin Mercer and Hailey Anderson; and brother-in-law Michael Zeilinger.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00PM-4:00PM Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Pepin Lions Club in Pepin, WI.
