Cynthia A Hutter

Cynthia A. Hutter, age 73 of Arkansaw, died Monday, February 5, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire with her family by her side.

Cindy was born on February 21, 1950 in Deadwood, SD. She was the daughter of Howard and Norma (Hei) Fransen. At a young age, Cindy moved with her family to Durand and graduated from Durand High School. After high school, Cindy spent a year at school in the Twin Cities and then took a job in Eau Claire at Freitag Landscaping. Cindy married Dennis J. Hutter on December 19, 1970 at. St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand. After marriage, they lived in Arkansaw where they raised their family. Cindy worked at Erickson’s Grocery Store in Durand for many years before taking a job at Walmart in Menomonie. She worked at Walmart until her retirement.

Cindy enjoyed the simple treasures in life. Spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom she adored. She loved watching the birds from the house and feeding the occasional stray cats that would frequent her front door. Cindy also enjoyed making crafts and baking for her family, treats for the grandchildren.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dennis, children Jennifer (Chris) Bates of Durand, Jason of Arkansaw, Julie (Ryan) Smith of Menomonie, Joshua (Cristie) of Chippewa Falls, daughter-in-law Ashley Hutter of Arkansaw, 14 grandchildren, one sister Sharon Hallock of Tennessee, one brother Anthony (Hanne) Fransen of Prairie du Sac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, son Jeremy, grandson Mason Hutter and one sister Sandy Brunner.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00AM Friday, February 9, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arkansaw. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Durand, is serving the family.
