William W. "Bill" Brantner - 02-24-2010Dateline: Durand William W. “Bill” Brantner, age 91 of Durand Born: May 16, 1918 Died: February 24, 2010 at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi Bill was the son of Charles and Pauline (Berger) Brantner. He was born in Pepin County. He married Irma Weissinger on June 3, 1941 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima. After marriage they farmed in the Town of Lima until retirement. His wife Irma passed away December 16, 2009. Bill is survived by two sons, LaVerne (Kathy) Brantner of Racine, Ronald (Jane) Brantner of Eau Claire, one daughter, Betty Lauer of Durand, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one brother, Ed (Evie) Brantner of Eau Claire, one sister, Dorothy (Paul) Schlink of Lewiston, MN, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irma, four brothers, Charles “Chuck,” Joe, Arnold “Tex,” and Lambert in infancy, four sisters, Agnes Kiral, Laura Cain, Irene Becker and Katherine Becker and one son-in-law, Arland Lauer. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday February 27, 2010 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima, rural Durand. Rev. David Rybicki will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday at the Rhiel Funeral Home, Durand, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
